Bishops' initiative subject of workshop

All United Methodists in upper New York, lay and clergy, and other interested persons are invited to learn more about the new initiative of the Council on Bishops “IN DEFENSE OF CREATION”

On behalf of the Rev. Dr. Marcus Matthews, Resident Bishop of the New York West Area, the Finger Lakes and Genesee Valley Districts are co-sponsoring a workshop on this initiative on September 19 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Farmington United Methodist Church near Canandaigua, NY.

The workshop will be led by Rev. Dr. Dana Horrell who founded the Center for the Congregation in Public Life to equip congregations for mission and social justice ministries.

Also presenting will be Angela Douglas of Visions for Change in Syracuse, N.Y. Visions for Change is the organization in the Circles Campaign which is dedicated to building Bridges Out of Poverty.
